Spring Break '09 LIKE A BOSS!

Let me first begin this post with a thanks to everyone I saw and spent time with during this past week for making it one of the most fun weeks I've ever had. You're all amazing.
Might as well begin this post with the Saturday morning departure which was scheduled for 9:30 at Graham's house. Bryan D, Mike L, Graham D, Austin B, and I were all headed for Myrtle Beach SC for our senior year Spring Break where we had bought a house to stay in for the week. I arrived on time as did Mike and Bryan, but Austin didn't get there until around 10:00. Graham couldn't find anybody to work for him so he would have to come down after his shift at Chik-fil-a ended at 2:00. Once everybody got to Graham's that was leaving in the morning we loaded Austin's car and Mrs. Davis' car up with our luggage. Mrs. Davis was staying about five blocks down from us until Tuesday when she would leave. The car ride down was effortless for two reasons. The first being that Mrs. Davis was leading and she knew where to go, and the second was that Austin's mom let him borrow her TomTom GPS device for us to get around while we were down there. Bryan brought The Lonely Island CD which was the only thing we listened to for the whole week. It is a hilarious album. We put that in and fell in love with it at first sound. We talked about how much fun we were going to have and the things we were going to do. In Bennetsville SC we stopped to eat lunch at Subway which was delicious. After that we all used the restroom and then were on our way for the back stretch of the trip down there.
The excitement started to build exponentially in that vehicle as we got closer and closer to the coast. Once we hit Ocean Blvd. we knew that it was real. We drove to our house on Nixon St. off of 54th in Cherry Grove. Our house was two stories with three bedrooms, two baths, a dining area, kitchen, and a living room. Since there were five of us and three beds we brought an air matress, but someone would just have to double beds or sleep on the floor. I claimed a bottom bed room, Mike got the other, and Austin claimed the master bed on the second floor. Bryan said he would use the air matress. We unloaded the food and put our clothes in drawers and then we grabbed the football Austin brought and the four of us took to the beach! That first feeling of pure ecstasy that overcame me when my toes printed the sand was exactly what I needed to cure myself of the rut my life had been going in. I remember the wind whipping my shirt as we joyfully tossed the ball around. The sound of the waves mixed with the call of seagulls and the banter of people created the perfect noise of bliss. All of this was good and fun, but Bryan decided to have some fun and we drew giant penises and stick figures having sex in the sand since it was low tide. They were real works of art and everyone started to pitch in their own artistic flair. After having some good laughs with that we got a call from Graham saying he was almost there so we went back to the house to let him in.
Graham was just as happy as us when he walked in the house for the first time gazing upon what we knew was ours, even if it was just for a week. He put his stuff in the room I had mine in and we went upstairs and hooked up Guitar Hero: World Tour and moved some furniture to better suit ourselves. We played that for a few minutes then we decided to go walking. We found out that our friends Will, George, Chris, Matt, and many more were a block down from us in their condo. We also found that Chelsea, Katie, Kim, and others were a few blocks down in the other direction and that Maggie, Morgan, Jackson, and others were right beside Chelsea's building. Everybody was within walking distance! This was fantastic since we only brought two cars! After seeing and greeting everybody we went back home and went out to Bi-Lo to buy perishable foods like produce to eat for the week. I got apples and carrots to have for breakfast and snacks. Graham got a bunch of stuff like hotdogs and chicken tenders. After getting the food we went to Chelsea's again and saw Georgeanna. She wanted to walk with us back to her place, (Will and Chris') but ended up coming to our place and hung out with us. She was really drunk and it was really funny to be around her. Everyone at Maggie's came over to the house and chilled with us which ended up just being everbody sitting around watching Georgeanna do funny stuff. It got kind of late and Bryan, Austin, Jackson, and I were going to walk Georgeanna back to her place but Bryan got sick on the sidewalk so him and Jackson went back to the house and Austin and I guided Ganna back to her condo. After conquering the stairs up to the second floor and making sure she got in the door safe we started walking back when I found a No Parking sign on the road and took it back to the house. When we got back, however, everybody from Mikhyla's place had left so everyone just decided to call it a night because we were all tired from the trip down. I let Graham have the downstairs bed and I shared with Austin the first night because he was going to wake up early and go to church, and everyone knows I wake up early anyway. I woke up at about 7:00 and went downstairs and just started shuffling the deck of cards we brought. I heard Austin get in the shower around 8:00 and Mike got up around 8:10 and came out there and talked to me while I ate Fruit Loops and he had his oatmeal. Bryan woke up around 8:30 and we played poker with the change that we had from eating Subway and decided that we were going to keep our change in a community cup and play with it ever morning. Not for keeps, just for fun.
Graham got up around 9:00 and Austin left for church. Everbody then started getting ready to head to the beach. We were meeting Maggie and them on the beach in front of their hotel, which we would do everytime we went to the beach. The day was so nice, but the ocean was still ice cold from the winter. We played Ultimate Frisbee with the frisbee Alex let me borrow for the trip. While playing Chelsea came over and talked to me and showed me where they were laying on the beach (about 150 yards from us) and I went over to lay down and chat with them for a few minutes. After returning to the group we just relaxed until about 5:00 and we went home to shower and get ready for the night. That night Maggie's place was partying. It was rediculously fun. I walked like a dinosaur, told everybody what I liked about them, and walked around without a shirt on the whole night. Around 2:00am Graham drove all the guys home and then went back out to DD for some people. I was able to sleep in the downstairs bedroom that night and I texted Graham to just pick a bed to sleep in and put his pillow on the stairs. He chose my bed, so he and I shared a bed for the rest of the week, because neither of us wanted to sleep on the floor.
Monday morning I woke up at 7:00 again and ate my fruitloops and muffins and was joined by Bryan around 7:50. Mike woke up and got in the shower around 8:00. Bryan and I played Speed with the cards for awhile along with eating. Everyone was up by 9:00. It was supposed to rain late Monday and most of Tuesday so we got ready to go to the beach for a few hours. After that Bryan and I went and got in Chelsea's hot tub with her and Carmen. After that we went back to the house and went out to eat at this amazing place called Empire Fire: Mongollian Grill. It was an all you can eat buffet that they cook in front of you. The food was phenominal at the least. We got back and then we all went to get icecream with Chelsea and Carmen. That night we had Maggie and them over for a bit, but then we just went back over there. A few of us stopped by Chelsea's to see what was going on. We only stayed for a short bit though and then went back to Jessie and Laura's. Bryan and I went with Georgeanna to get her stuff from Will's to take to Jackson's because she was going to stay there for a night. On our walk back someone shouted from Chelsea's condo, "PARTY IN ROOM 601!" and we just laughed. I woke up around 8:00 the next day and played poker with Bryan and Mike when they woke up. After everyone was ready Bryan, Mike, and I went to the beach to throw the football some early in the morning still.
We saw Mrs. Davis and Ganna. We did a few sprints with Ganna but then I felt really sick because I ate too much. Austin's girlfriend Noel and her friend Sam were supposed to come by today. They had stopped by and watched 24 with Austin on Monday night. I took a nap because I wasn't feeling well, but when I woke up everybody was gone except Noel and Austin, who were in his room with the door shut, and Sam who was sitting on the couch watching TV eating some ravioli that was mine that she just got out of the cabinet. I didn't say anything though. I just sat next to her and started talking to her because I figured she felt left out. I find out the guys went to chill with Taylor, Olivia, and Rachel. I call them and they come pick me up to go to their place and chill by the pool and hot tub. It was so windy because it was supposed to rain. Bryan and I were attempting to throw a frisbee in the wind. It was kind of working sometimes, but overall it wasn't going so well. Towards the end of hanging out I took off my trunks to reveal my electric blue speedo and took some pictures with the girls. I then put my trunks back on and we went home. Austin made his chicken casserole and we sat at the table and ate it. It was scruptious and everybody loved it. We then got ready for the night. Bryan and I went to Will's to see who was there and then went over to Maggie's. That night Bryan and Georgeanna hooked up and Austin was leaving for Carolina Beach for one night with Noel and Sam. They were trying to get someone to go with him but nobody wanted to go so far. I also heard, because Austin had his phone on speaker, that Sam thought I was mad creepy for talking to her after waking up from my nap with no shirt on. She can go suck penis. She was in MY house, on MY couch, eating MY food and I didn't say anything. Sorry if I'm just trying to be nice while your friend is in the other room with the door closed and you're up there alone. After Austin got ready to leave he dropped me off at Maggie's again because I went home with him so he wouldn't have to walk alone. I then head up the elevator and enter and Bryan is ready to leave because he doesn't feel well, so we get Mike out of Maggie's room and apparently they got into some argument so he was ready to book it out of there with Bryan. I stayed behind because I was planning on going to Chelsea's that night anyway. I stayed and talked to Maggie some and let her vent to me to cool off some and then I bounced to Chelsea's at about midnight. Chelsea's hotel locks its doors after 7:00pm, but the stairwell doors don't have locks on them so I just went in those every time I went over there. I walked into her condo and sat down before anyone even realized I was there, but when they did it was like I was the most popular person there. I took a few to catch up to everyone and then just hung out. We played Bullshit and pretty much just joked around. I stayed there until about 2:30 when I walked home by myself. When I got there everyone else was asleep and Graham had put my pillow on the stairs because I was sleeping in Austin's bed that night since he was not there.
I did not wake up until 9:00 that Wednesday morning, but I was still first up. By 10:00 Mike and I were ready and walking to Maggie's so they could solve their problems. We only had time for a few hands of poker that morning. I was pretty much just going with Mike for moral support. When we arrive everyone is in a panic trying to get dressed because they are supposed to go shopping that day. Mike and Maggie start talking in the kitchen and don't stop for about two hours. In that time I just watched TV. The sun came out and everyone changed their minds from shopping to beach. They all left for the beach so it was just Mike, Maggie, and I left in the condo while they finished up their conversation. I just sat on the couch trying to give them their alone time. After awhile I realized that they were no longer arguing and I told Mike that we should get out of there so we can go to the beach too. We went out to the beach and Austin got his finger caught on Tyler's shirt and had to go to the emergency room. They Xrayed it and he chipped a bone off and tore the tendon off completely so he couldn't move his pinky at all. They gave him a splint and well probably have to do surgery to fix it. While on the beach, however, Bryan, Tyler, and I enacted Operation SEAGULL which is where we put Cheese-Itz all over Laura's towel because she is afraid of birds. There were about twenty seagulls that came and she totally freaked out. It was very funny. After the beach we went back home and got ready to go to Outback Steakhouse. Austin, Maggie, Bryan, Mike, and I all went. It was awesome. The food was so delectable. We stole nine of the drink coasters to use as frisbees in our house which made me feel like a badass. After eating we went to play Put Put. We didn't really play as much as try to get hole-in-ones and then just kick the ball in the hole. I stole my pink ball and mike stole his black one. Bryan stole a pencil that they use to write on the cards with. We then went back to our house and Bryan and I went over to Morgan and Mikhyla's after seeing everyone at Will's that we wanted to while Mike, Maggie, and Austin stayed home. Austin went to sleep though as soon as we got in. We played Beer Pong at Jackson's and then just chilled. Bryan and I walked home around 1:25 and Graham came home around 1:30. Mike and Maggie finally came out of the room around 1:40 and then walked to her place and then drove Mike back to the house where he immediately fell asleep. Graham, Bryan, and I stayed up later and cooked Bryan's chicken pie which was sooo good! It was delicious. Graham went to sleep around 2:45, but Bryan and I stayed up to finish the pie and built card houses. I got mine up to three stories high. Bryan and I called it a night around 3:15.
Thursday Noel and Sam were going to eat dinner with us and then shopping at Barefoot Landing. After waking up and playing our morning poker we went to the beach like always. Graham made the Laura and the girls grilled cheese for lunch. I saw Daniel S on the beach with Chelsea from the banlcony and he signalled me to come down, so I did. Once on the beach everyone was on the balcony and Bryan shouted, "Whip it out!" So I whipped off my trunks revealing my electric blue speedo and everyone got a huge kick out of it as i sprinted out and gave Mike a hug as he was walking in. I then posed for a photo for Laura and then sprinted over to Chelsea and those girls and then rolled on top of them in my speedo. Chelsea stood up and I started doing the Party Boy and she just kept running which was hilarious. Chelsea and Carmen then came up to the condo with me and talked for a bit, but then went back down to tan. After everyone had their food Graham made a grilled cheese for these two girls from Western Alamance that he thought were hot and went and gave them beach side service. It was quite the show. I then took pictures with everyone with my speedo on. We had another round of Operation SEAGULL and then just relaxed. That night we went to some restaurant that sucked. Our waitress was god-aweful. She looked like she smoked meth and she stole our money! She didn't give us all of our change. I was missing 40 cents, Bryan was missing 60 cents, and Mike was missing a whole dollar. We figured that if that's what she wanted to do for a tip then she can just have it and we left. If she wanted a 40 cent tip for a $12 meal, have at it lame ass. Also, mind you, I asked Mike and Bryan to not even look at Sam, which they did effectively. We then walked around the shops and got Bryan a belt for $5. Bryan and I were just about to walk into Lids to get hats but they closed to doors in our face three minutes before they were supposed to. We all went home then and Austin was going to Carolina Beach with Noel again so I would get to sleep in his bed. Bryan and I went over to Maggie's to get Mike before we went to sleep though. We got to bed about 2:00.
We woke up on our last full day with a strong sense of sadness and nostalgia of the past week. We played our morning poker with much more change than what we started with on Sunday. We had plans for today though. We were cooking a lot of food to get rid of it and having Taylor, Olivia, and Rachel over to help eat it. We got ready to head out to the beach for one last time and began our walk. We went to the girls condo first though because we were going to sling-shot water balloons at them from their own balcony. They left the door unlocked every day so we knew we could get in. Once inside Graham pulled out the sling shot and we filled three balloons. Bryan and I held the ends, Graham was the shooter, and Mike the reloader. The first shot was terrible, so bad that they didn't even look up at us. The second was much closer but not on target. The third shot they were looking at us so Bryan and I stood up and stretched our full length and Mike helped Graham pull it as far back as they could and then released it. The orange balloon soared through the air as smiles scamper across our faces until the wind blew it hard right. It zoomed right over our target and hit the Western Alamance girls Graham had the hots for. He was trying to spit game the day before and hit them with a water balloon today, talk about irony. We then make our way onto the beach and just relax until about 3:00 when we left to head to the rooftop pool which was awesome. I'm afraid of heights but it was still incredible to say the least. At 4:30 the guys split home to begin cooking and start packing. While waiting for food to cook Bryan and I stood all of the change we collected throughout the week on its side and I made another three story tall cardhouse. For dinner when the girls arrived we had Spaghetti, Mac & Cheese, Chicken Pie, and Chicken Tenders. It was actually all extremely good. After dinner the three girls left with Graham and then the group picked Mike and I up and we went to Barefoot Landing so Bryan and I could get our hats. Bryan got a Notre Dame one and I got a DC hat. After that we just went back to the house and chilled until they got tired and we went back to get my jacket and then came home. We stayed up for a bit and talked about the week but then we went to sleep as I crawled in with Graham for the last time (haha).
Saturday morning I woke up and got Bryan up and we took showers first. Mike and Austin followed, and last was Graham. We cleaned everything really well and loaded the cars up. We split up the change and each person got $1.50 exactly. It was all really depressing to be honest. We used the last sheet of toilet paper we brought, the last sheet of paper towels we had, and I used the last Listerine strip of the pack I brought all this morning. It's as if everything was telling us it was time to leave. As we drove off of Nixon St. it was Mike and I in Austin's car and Bryan in Graham's. We stopped at Wendy's in Rockingham for lunch and then stopped on the side of the road to help Jessie's overheated car. After that we went to Graham's. I hugged all the guys before we all went our separate ways and that's exactly what we did: went our separate ways.
Bromance right there if I ever saw one.
