So this week has been so relaxed so far. Monday was a holiday and Tuesday was a snow day. First snow of 2009 in Greensboro! Yesterday (Wednesday) was a review day at school so everybody didn't really do much. Today was day one of a three day exam schedule. I had Marine Science exam today with Amweg which was just a project that I did on Sperm Whales. I thought that it would be boring, but I got lucky and actually had an extremely interesting animal. I learned that Sperm Whales can live to be over seventy years old and can dive up to two miles under the water. That's older and deeper than any other whale or dolphin. I also learned why they are named Sperm Whales, and it's not because of what you're thinking. They have a white, milky substance in their head which was mistaken for semen when they were discovered centuries ago, but in fact, it is spermaceti which helps them dive very deep and float very effortlessly. I have to give Amweg credit for creating an interesting way to get a midterm grade. I actually enjoyed my project, even though it wasn't the most fancy, I think I probably learned more than 99% of the class about our animals.
I also had my Honors English 12 midterm with Ms. Reece which was so incredibly easy. I was the first done but instead of turning it in and looking like a total nerd I held on to it until Ms. Reece saw I was finished and took it from me. We watched Family Guy until it was time to leave when I saw a familiar face in the parking lot. Beth had come to see Taylor and I stopped to chat with her. She's still very nice and I still enjoy talking to her. I do wish her the best.
Well tomorrow I have Spanish and Engineering exams so those will be easy. I'll post how I did later.
