Wow, what a weekend it has been. Friday Andrew S came back from smart school and hung out with Matt L, Chris H, Alex B, Saadi A, and Dariah S, and I. We went bowling, which I started out terrible at, but picked up my game in a hurry. After bowling all of us went to the hookah bar and just chilled. Andrew, Matt, and Saadi left around 11:00, but Alex, Chris, Dariah, and I stayed until around midnight. After getting home I had a lot of trouble trying to get some sleep. I kept waking up every few minutes which sucked because I had to be at the Habitat for Humanity job site at 8:00 the next morning ready for some manual labor.
Andrew G and I decided to do community service for our senior projects and we both decided on working with Habitat for it. H.F.H. is an organization that builds and restores affordable homes for the needy. Andrew was at my house at 7:20 on Saturday to pick me up to head out to the site. The site was on Byers Rd. near Piscah Church. We got there right at 8:00 and it was cold! We were painting that day (although we were told we were flooring during the week, so I didn't wear painting clothes). It was so cold that the paint was starting to freeze in the buckets. I got paint on my clothes, sadly. We were painting white walls an off-white color, which made it extremely difficult to see what was already painted, especially for Andrew since he is partially color blind. There were two site leaders there, a big man named Mike and a corky, upbeat girl named Kat, short for Katrina. During the day while painting downstairs I hear Kat scream out, "No!!!!" and look over and see that she had dropped her phone in a bucket of paint. Everyone started rolling in laughter as she snatched it out and feverishly began wiping it off. Needless to say it did not work anymore. I then went upstairs to chat with Andrew and help him paint in the master bathroom. The people there were pretty cool. Most of them were Habitat homeowners trying to get their hours in. In order to move into a Habitat house you have to have atleast 300 hours with the organization. Many of those people were foreign and spoke different languages. Some of the people I met were these two girls, one who was an alchohol rep, and the other a bar tender; and then a guy named Randall who was in A.A. Everyone there were good people though. Lucnh was provided by a church somewhere and it was awesome. After painting we had to sand some spots on the wall and repaint over, just to be perfectionists. At 3:30 it was time to leave and I came home and took a nap from about 4:30 until 7:00 when my mom called intoxicated because I was supposed to go to Madison that night, but I was way too tired and she was upset.
Today (Sunday) was so relaxed. I just layed around all day waiting for the Superbowl, which was a great game by the way. I really thought Arizona was going to be able to pull it out at the end there until that Holmes guy got the big gain at the end. I didn't really care who won, but everyone likes an underdog. That was one of the best Superbowls I've ever seen.
Now that it's over, though, I'm going to bed. Good night!
