Maggie's Day

So I must admit: Friday was incredibly exciting and fun. So many things were happening that just made it spectacular. First off, it was the last day before Christmas Break so all the teachers were just relaxed and didn't do anything. I even learned how to play Craps in my stats class because we are covering probability right now. To be honest, however, the most amazing factor of this incredible day was that it was my dear friend Maggie's 18th birthday! (HAPPY BIRTHDAY again.) So, due to that huge component of the day, I couldn't wait for the school day to end to get the evening started by everyone meeting at Natty Greens to eat.
Kenny was kind enough to give me a lift to the restaurant in his "metal death trap" as he calls it. We made great time by hitting almost every green light. When we got there I was ecstatic to see everyone there. The people there were Maggie, Mike, Jarrett, Paul, Laura, Morgan, Amy, Jessie, Tyler, Bryan, Jackson, Alexis, and of course Kenny and I. I was however disappointed that Mikhyla couldn't show due to the fact that she had her wisdom teeth removed and was probably out of it big time from the drugs. I was also disappointed that Graham was going to Texas so he couldn't show, and that Clare had to babysit so her and Austin were no-shows. We didn't let that dampen our fun though. All the girls looked very pretty and all of the guys looked really sharp. At first we were sitting outside with some intense wind which made it kind of cold, but when we got our tables (yes, two tables because the restaurant was too small to make a big one for all of us) we were in some kind of corner that we had to make a maze when ever someone wanted to get out to use the bathroom or anything. Speaking of bathroom: Jackson walked in on a Hispanic man taking a poo which was rediculously funny. The preformance (used as a noun and not an adjective [inside joke]) of the waitress was subpar at best. Morgan didn't get her drink for like fifteen minutes after we did and our food came out so much slower than the other table's. Which led me to believe that the waitress didn't put our order in as soon as she took it. That crazy lady charged us 18% for a 15% job. Everyone put in some money to pay for Maggie's dinner cause she was the birthday girl (or woman now?). After dinner we decided to walk to the park downtown with the Christmas tree.
The walk was much, much, much longer than I had expected it to be. Tyler pointed out a fact that there is like a 10:1 ratio of guys to girls downtown. We hardly saw any women, but we saw atleast thirty men. At the park we were having a blast taking tons of pictures. Maggie was even more excited, I think, because she got to use her new camera that her parents got her. Taking pictures and playing around was so much fun. We even got some lady to take a pic of all of us in front of the huge tree. Alexis, somehow, was not sinking into the ground even though she had on heels. The fountain there was really cool. It would shoot out water in patterns and made for and excellent picture backdrop due to the light that reflected off of the water when it shot up. After we had our fix of pictures and fun there we decided that it was time to go to Maggie's. We had to walk so far again to get back to our cars. I don't see why we didn't just drive, but then again, I didn't know how far away the park was. The walk back, however, seemed to go faster for some reason.
On our way to Maggie's house Kenny and I were following who we thought was Alexis. So we were riding her bumper to see if she had a dent on it that we would recognize. We could see what we thought was the dent and passed her really fast and scared the hell out of her. At Maggie's house I walk in the door and Jackson and Tyler are both there but Maggie isn't even though she left much earlier than the rest of us. Jackson and Tyler, apparently, had just walked in with only Maggie's brother there which probably freaked him out. After everyone arrived we the Birthday Girl started to open her presents from all of us. She seemed to enjoy them all; but who doesn't enjoy presents? I would have to say I though Jessie's gift was the best, which was a collage of pictures with Maggie and Jessie in them. Some going back to sophomore year I believe. That was really nice of Jessie to do. After gifts everyone just kind of relaxed while we watched American Gladiators. That is a very wierd show. People slowly started leaving around 11:30 and Kenny and I left around 12:15 and we were the 2nd to last car to leave.
Overall the night was exciting and I hope that it was special for Maggie. I do wish the best for your new adult life.
